Major Andre's Way
Op. 10 (2016/2018) for bass voice

Three out of six movements from Major Andre's Way, a song cycle for bass voice and piano. This cycle tells the story of a fictional war hero named Major Andre, who confronts death and immortality. The texts used are poems by Emily Dickinson, who did not arrange any of these poems together. I selected and arranged her poems to tell a new story.

I. The Manner of its Death - text
II. He Fought like those Who've nought to lose - text
III. It was not Death, for I stood up - text
IV. Robbed by Death, but that was easy - text
V. Because I could not stop for Death - text
VI. Behind Me - dips Eternity - text
